At the age of 16, he followed his father, Shih Li, known as the 'Divine Knife,' to learn the art of deity carving—Zhuangfo (dressing and painting Buddhist statues). This laid a solid foundation for his skills, and he has dedicated over seventy years to diligently researching carving and Zhuangfo craftsmanship. * He has integrated and elevated the Quanzhou school of Zhuangfo carving techniques, characterized by its structured framework, composition, proportions, delicate elegance, stable and robust style, and exquisite and ornate lacquer line techniques, making his skills truly exceptional. * In 2014, he received the 'Craft Achievement Award' from the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute of the Ministry of Culture and the '2014 Taiwan Wood Sculpture Heritage Award' from the Miaoli County Government. In 2011, he was recognized as a 'Living National Treasure' by the Council for Cultural Affairs, Executive Yuan. In 2009, the Changhua County Government registered him as a preserver of intangible cultural heritage in traditional craftsmanship—Zhuangfo. In 1994, he received the 10th 'National Arts Heritage Award' from the Ministry of Education, among other honors. * Shih Tze-Ho Art Studio is located near attractions such as Lukang Tianhou Temple, Lukang Old Street, and art galleries.
