For over 120 years, centered around Changhua Christian Hospital, there have been tremendous changes in the development of medical technology and church development in central Taiwan. Many missionaries have joined to expand the overall foundation. During this period, many love stories have unfolded, especially the historical event of "Love for the Skin" which is widely talked about. David Landsborough and his family, dedicating two generations of their lives to Changhua, along with the successive medical missionaries and the church pastoral team led by Pastor Mei Jian-wu, formed a complete system of care for the body, mind, and spirit. The historical development context is of great historical research value. Therefore, Changhua Christian Hospital, in order to preserve and research the precious historical materials of the past 120 years, established the Changhua Christian Hospital History Museum in 1998 to preserve precious historical artifacts. The Changhua Christian Hospital Museum of History and Culture upholds the core value of "God loves the world," taking the social care network established by Western missionaries for the medical and church systems in central Taiwan as the subject of collection, research, and application, with the aim of collecting, adding value to, and socially learning from historical materials of medical history in central Taiwan.
