Craftsman: Huang Sha-rong Mr. Huang Sha-rong was born in a rural village in Fuxing Township. In 2013, he was registered as a preserver of traditional wood carving, a traditional craft of Changhua County. After graduating from elementary school, he apprenticed with a master to learn shrine carving. He once studied the craft of 'Ranma' (transom carvings) at a Japanese company and skillfully applied the 'Ranma' carving techniques to his works. With 51 years of wood carving experience, he uses his hands flexibly to make wood carving art the essence of local traditional culture. Mr. Huang's works are themed around orchids, using the unique tough texture of Taiwanese native camphor wood to depict the delicate and graceful posture of orchids. He perfectly captures the delicate beauty of flowers, demonstrating his superb carving skills. He has won numerous awards, including the Huangxi Art Exhibition's Huangxi Award, the first prize in the craft category of the 16th National Art Exhibition, and the 2nd Dajun Craftsmanship Award. Huang Sha-rong Wood Sculpture Studio is located in Fubao Dairy Cow Painted Village, Turtle Park, and Driftwood Marker in Fuxing Township, Changhua County.
