Located in the northern part of Nantou City, Zhongxing New Village retains much of the former glory of the military dependents' villages. It was formerly the seat of the provincial government and is the second new town in Taiwan after World War II. The community has many historical traces worth exploring, such as the "Zhongxing Hall," known as the "Little White House," with its eye-catching European-style exterior; the "Zhongxing Post Office Branch No. 7" with its magnificent stamp wall, showcasing over 300 stamps issued in the past; and "Provincial Government Daily Stroll," which revitalizes old houses into literary and artistic style shops integrating local characteristics. With its many planted saplings, the "Tree-lined Avenue" of Zhongxing New Village is now an impressive landmark, exuding a rich atmosphere of intertwined humanities and nature.
