Its founding purpose is to promote the benevolent spirit of Mazu and inherit the local cultural heritage that is on the verge of being lost. It brings together traditional artisans and masters, infuses new vitality, and works with enthusiastic individuals to present the long-standing local characteristics in their original form, providing folk historians with material for research and remembrance of ancient artifacts. Beigang Story House is a non-profit oriented venue, aligning with the purpose of Chaotian Temple. For example, Taiwanese student Wu Jian-heng, with the support of Chaotian Temple and this museum, has used traditional folk cultures such as the Taiwanese Third Prince puppet and the Eight Generals masks to promote Mazu culture across Asia, Africa, and South America through his actions, engaging in national diplomacy. In the future, this will be expanded, with the hope that Beigang Mazu will ascend to the international folk stage.
