The Cheng Feng-Hsi Memorial Library was established by Mr. Cheng Feng-Hsi, who, before his passing, recognized the lack of library resources in rural areas and aspired to build a library. Unfortunately, he passed away from liver cancer before fulfilling his dream. His wife, Ms. Wu Ji-zhao, to fulfill her husband's wish, worked tirelessly and established the "Cheng Feng-Hsi Cultural and Educational Foundation," and began raising funds for the library's construction. With the assistance of various parties, the library was completed in 1989, covering an area of 519.4 ping. Designed by renowned architect Mr. Li Chu-yuan, its distinctive feature is its ship-shaped architecture. In 1992, it was honored as an outstanding township library. The Library and Museum is located on County Highway 164 in Yunlin. Its distinctive design features a slanted, ship-shaped roof. The building's striking exterior stands beside lush green rice paddies, resembling a ship with sails raised, navigating the vast ocean, much like the life inspiration he conveyed in his books – to strive relentlessly. Located beside County Highway 164 in Kouhu Township, its most distinctive feature is the slanted, ship-shaped roof. This was Mr. Cheng Feng-Hsi's greatest hope in life, wishing this library would provide the local children with a comfortable reading environment and abundant book collections. The library displays books and prosthetics used by Mr. Cheng Feng-Hsi during his lifetime for visitors to see, allowing interested individuals to learn more about his life story.
