Built in 1923, it was originally a power plant built for the Wushantou Reservoir, with electricity capable of being transmitted up to 100 kilometers away. The Wutu Power Plant has 3 well-preserved generator units that are still in operation today. The water used by the power plant is drawn from the Zhuoshui River and Qingshui River. The generator plant building is a Baroque-style brick structure with no beams, columns, or reinforced concrete.
