This simple yet elegant brick and tile structure was originally built in response to the administrative restructuring of the local area during the Taisho era of Japanese rule. The district office at that time served a dual function of administration and policing, with its two-story building housing offices, a fan-shaped detention center, and an assembly hall. After enduring the vicissitudes of time, the Tōseki District Office largely retains its original appearance. It currently serves as the Puzi Police Precinct and is the highest-ranking official building from the Japanese colonial period still standing in Chiayi County, holding immense historical and cultural significance.
