The Eternal Spring and Everlasting Love Bridges are located in Chuku Village, consisting of two ancient suspension bridges spanning the Bazhang River. Chuku Village, situated on the riverbank between the Bazhang River and Duliaoshan Mountain, is the starting point of the Alishan Highway. Built in the 12th year of the Showa era (1937), it was an essential bridge for early travel from Gongtian Village to Chiayi via Chuku. The Eternal Spring and Everlasting Love Bridges are two distinct suspension bridges; the lower one is the Everlasting Love Bridge, and the higher one is the Eternal Spring Bridge. The Everlasting Love Bridge runs parallel to Provincial Highway 18, while the Eternal Spring Bridge is located behind Longyin Temple. Couples are often seen strolling on the bridges here, enjoying the expansive view from above. The romantic Eternal Spring and Everlasting Love Bridges make you feel as if you are in the sky when standing in the middle of the bridge, looking down at the Bazhang River below. In winter, the water is clear as a mirror; in summer, it is turbulent. Since the opening of the Alishan Highway, the road has transitioned from a gentle path to winding and treacherous mountain roads, making this a resting point for travelers. Most visitors stop here for a short break. The lush green mountains behind the bridge and the babbling brook below create a beautiful rural landscape. The refreshing view and the clean air allow you to wash away the fatigue of your journey and relax completely.
