Nanjing Railway Station. Nanjing Railway Station was established on April 20, 1901, in Shuijue Tou, Shuishang Township (now Shuishang Station). In 1910, to support the establishment and sugar transport operations of Nanjing Sugar Factory, the station was relocated. Nanjing Railway Station was built of cement in 1942. The main entrance is recessed inward, and the shape of the toilet on the right complements the station building, which is quite interesting. The waiting rooms inside the station are all made of wood. The ticket counter, seats, and even the windows are wooden products that, having weathered the test of time, appear antique. The vast station grounds within the station tell of its glorious past. Within the station grounds, there is a siding that leads to Nanjing Sugar Factory. However, the Taiwan Sugar Railway has a 76.2 cm track gauge, while the Taiwan Railways Administration's track gauge is 106.7 cm. Using two different track gauges is inconvenient, hence the design of a three-rail track, where the wider outer gauge is suitable for Taiwan Railways freight cars, and the narrower inner gauge is suitable for the sugar factory's small trains. Many railway stations in southern Taiwan that are not far from sugar factories have this three-rail track design, such as Dou Nan, Dalin, and Xinying. But now, the sugar industry's prosperity has faded, and the sugar factory's small trains have long ceased operation, replaced by road transport. Shuishang Township in those days
