Puzi Embroidery Museum. Puzi Township in Chiayi County was once a major center for the embroidery industry. The prosperity of that era is reflected in the large number of embroidered artworks from Puzi that were exported, including "Baxian Cai" (eight-immortal curtains). To inherit this outstanding local cultural characteristic, the Puzi Township Office has been dedicated to promoting embroidery since 2002. Not only did they establish the Chiayi County Embroidery Culture Association and offer workshops for embroidery instruction, but with the support of the Ministry of Culture, they also constructed the Embroidery Culture Museum. The Embroidery Culture Museum was originally a vacant space in the former office building of the local boat brigade. The entire building was renovated from a wooden Japanese dormitory, possessing a deep sense of antiquity and aligning with the concept of embroidery culture. The museum documents the prosperous scene of Puzi Township during the flourishing development of the embroidery industry and showcases many meticulously crafted and breathtaking embroidered artworks. Through interactive learning within the industry, the Embroidery Culture Museum recreates a rich local culture, integrates community activities, drives various cultural tourism initiatives, and has become a notable tourist attraction.
