Pingtung County People's Park. In 1909, Pingtung Sugar Factory was established and began operations, driving industrial development on the north bank of the Shashe River. The county government has transformed part of the Taiwan Sugar Corporation's land into "Taiwan Sugar County People's Park," opening 9 hectares to the public on October 15, 2018. The park features historical relics of the pulp factory, engaging themed playgrounds, a water feature showcasing the history of sugar production, a large tree plaza, and expansive grasslands for recreation. The playground, located in a corner of the 20-hectare Pingtung County People's Park, offers a fun and challenging play space. It includes a total of nine swing sets, climbing structures, a block maze, and a vortex spinner, designed to inspire and develop children's motor skills while providing a stimulating experience unlike other playgrounds. Incorporating the natural elements of "water and greenery," the park creates a visually rich and varied landscape by mimicking Pingtung's mountainous terrain and introducing topographical changes within the playground. The landscape waterway weaving through the area resembles children playing amidst mountain streams, and it integrates local elements such as the imagery of Checheng onions and "eagle red beans" to present a new style for the County People's Park playground. Diverse play equipment is designed to cater to children of different ages and needs, offering both single-player and multi-player options, ensuring every child can find a suitable play space within the park.
