Tianlong Ancient Trail. The Tianlong Ancient Trail starts at the Tianlong Suspension Bridge and is approximately 1.1 kilometers long. Before the Southern Cross-Island Highway was opened, the Tianlong Ancient Trail was the only road connecting residents of Lidao and other indigenous villages to the outside world. The gorge area where the Tianlong Ancient Trail is located harbors a "prototype of Taiwan's mountain forests" with its cliff-dwelling vegetation ecosystem. Along the trail, you can also see the Taiwan endemic species "Taiwan Pine" (Pinus taiwanensis), making it an ancient trail rich in precious natural ecology and one of the famous hiking routes of the Southern Cross-Island Highway.
