Taitung Old Railway Trail. The Taitung Old Railway Trail is 6 kilometers long. After the old Taitung Railway Station was officially decommissioned on June 1, 2001, the county government secured central government funding to convert the old railway line from the old station to the Beinan Irrigation Canal into a wooden boardwalk, creating an important leisure and walking space for Taitung citizens. The scenery along the old railway trail is varied. The section near the city center is lined with trees, and the community garden landscape created by the surrounding residences and businesses is also very distinctive. After passing Kaifeng Street and walking a bit further past the Taiping River, you will see the Zeng Zhengyuan Art Space, which was originally the Malan Station. The preserved platform can be used for temporary rest. At the end of the old railway trail, you can see the ancient and picturesque Taiping River Railway Bridge. The entire old railway trail runs through the urban area of Taitung City, making it a great place for people to relax, walk, and cycle.
