Located at the mouth of the Mawuku River, the Donghe Bridge Recreation Area is an important link connecting Chenggong Township and Donghe Township in Taitung, and a must-see attraction on the East Coast journey. The old and new Donghe Bridges span the river, one ancient and one modern, one gray and one red, each with its own charm. The old bridge, built in 1930, features a design combining arches and piers, cleverly integrating the terrain and the large rocks in the river, and has been listed as one of the "Top 100 Historical Architecture Sites in Taiwan." The new bridge is a vibrant red steel arch, simple, neat, and full of modern flair.
