It is named for the canyon scenery formed by the erosion of the Mawuku River. The scenery between Dengxian Bridge and Taiyuan settlement is particularly spectacular, with imposing, deep canyons complemented by the abundant, clear river flow, earning it the nickname "Little Tianxiang." Driving through by car or motorcycle, the steep cliffs are close at hand, allowing you to feel the fresh mountain air and cool breeze, and listen to the chirping of birds and cicadas. Upon entering the Taiyuan Basin, the expansive scenery is a pleasant surprise. The distant Coastal Mountain Range displays lush green peaks, a truly delightful sight. The canyon is also a habitat for Formosan macaques, and troops of monkeys can often be seen foraging and moving among the trees, their cute antics attracting many visitors for observation and photography.
