Dulan Site. Dulan originates from the local Amis word A'tolan (phonetic translation: Adulan), meaning a place with many stones and frequent earthquakes. Dulan Village in Donghe Township, Taitung County is a typical Amis tribe, backed by Dulan Mountain and overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, with pleasant scenery. Due to the long-term compression of tectonic plates in the Taitung Coastal Mountain Range, a continuous mountain range stretching for over a hundred kilometers has formed, with spectacular marine terraces extending for up to 4 kilometers. The terrain here is very similar to the gentle slopes of the marine terraces in Changbin Township. Perhaps due to the blessings of ancient topography, thousands of years of geological changes have created a precious archaeological culture – the Dulan Site.
