The Zhongyong Bicycle Path is a lesser-known cycling route on the East Coast. This is a loop path that passes through Zhongyong and Changguang communities. Both Zhongyong and Changguang communities are sites of the late Neolithic Qilin Culture (also known as the Megalithic Culture). The modern residents are primarily Amis, a major ethnic group on the East Coast, and one of the larger Amis tribes on the East Coast. During the Qing Dynasty, they mainly cultivated dryland rice and millet. During the Japanese colonial period, they learned rice cultivation techniques from the Kavalan people living in the Chengzibao area. They then concentrated tribal labor to open irrigation channels and organize them into the terraced fields seen today.
