Intertwined within the mountains and forests. The renovated Liyu Mountain Trail mostly consists of stone steps, wooden steps, or gentle slopes, with varying lengths. There are flat, easy-to-walk forest trails and steep stairs that lead directly to the summit. Hikers can choose a suitable trail based on their time and physical condition. Walking slowly along the steps in the morning, the forest exudes a fragrant aroma, and the crisp, pleasant sound of birdsong can be heard in the distance. The shimmering Liyu Lake is faintly visible through the branches and leaves. In the afternoon, mountain mist drifts, and a cool breeze blows, making one forget their worries. The summit of Liyu Mountain, at an altitude of 601 meters, is located near the junction of the Far View Trail and the Bird Watching Trail. It is listed as one of Taiwan's Lesser Baiyue Peaks and has a third-class triangulation point. The summit viewing platform offers excellent panoramic views of the tranquil rural scenery in the valley, the undulating ridges of the Coastal Mountain Range, and even the vast Pacific Ocean. Converse with Nature The forest type of Liyu Mountain belongs to low-altitude broadleaf forests and artificial forests. The rich and diverse understory vegetation nurtures many small animals. Tall tree ferns have elegant forms, and their symmetrical pinnate compound leaves possess a regular beauty. Vines climbing up the tree trunks add interest to the hiking journey. Surrounded by mountains, the serene and primitive Liyu Mountain is a haven for birds.
