Baiyang Trail: A Hidden Gem. Recreational service points and trails within Taroko National Park remain closed. Opening hours will be announced separately. For details, please refer to Taroko National Park. Located near Tianxiang in Taroko National Park, the Baiyang Trail is a hidden path within the mountains. You must first pass through a rather long, deep, and secluded tunnel. After emerging into a wide-open space, you can experience the subsequent grandeur and wonder. The Baiyang Trail evolved from a construction access road for the Taiwan Power Company. The path is generally flat and easy to walk, with beautiful and varied scenery along the way. The typical itinerary involves walking to the Water Curtain Cave and returning. From the entrance to the Water Curtain Cave, a short 2.1-kilometer stretch features 7 tunnels, so it's best to bring a flashlight for the Baiyang Trail. The Baiyang Trail winds along the Waher Creek and Taciqili Creek, with a deep valley on one side and steep mountain walls or gentle slopes on the other. Passing through the entrance tunnel, you'll see the Waher Creek, an upper tributary of the Liwu River, with numerous large rocks in its riverbed, which is spectacular after rain. Continuing along the winding river course, in addition to the beautiful mountain scenery, each tunnel you pass reveals a changing landscape of cliffs and waterfalls. Mountain springs cool the heat, a water curtain like another world. The Water Curtain Cave, located at the 2.1-kilometer mark, is the trail's most distinctive feature, where mountain springs cascade down from the water-bearing rock layer of the tunnel ceiling, creating a unique water curtain spectacle.
