Hutou Mountain Family Trail features distinct scenery throughout the seasons. In spring and summer, visitors can admire the white tung blossoms, while in autumn and winter, maple leaves turn red and winter plum blossoms bloom, making it a favorite hiking trail for tourists and locals alike. Hutou Mountain Family Trail is located in the Ruibei area of Ruisui Township. From Guangfu, head south along Provincial Highway 9, turn right onto Xiangbei Road before reaching Ruibei Elementary School. A gentle breeze blows along the way, stretching along the rural road. The farmlands on both sides are set against a clear blue sky, complemented by green mountains and clear waters, offering a panoramic view of the pastoral scenery of Ruisui, which is both relaxing and refreshing. Family Trail: A Glimpse of the East Rift Valley. Originally named 'Damayan Mountain', Hutou Mountain stands at an elevation of 1747 meters. It is an extension of the Danda Mountain range, a branch of the Central Mountain Range. Legend has it that a large rock at the summit resembles a crouching tiger overlooking the mountain, hence the name 'Hutou Mountain' (Tiger Head Mountain). Another theory suggests that when viewed from the Coastal Mountain Range, Hutou Mountain resembles a reclining tiger, with its terrain at the northwestern barrier of the trail entrance shaped like a 'tiger's head', giving rise to its name. The family trail begins at the intersection of Qixian Road and Xiangbei Road, ascending along a branch line behind local hot spring businesses.
