Among these, "Eight Snail" refers to Meilun Mountain. Meilun Mountain is a landmark of Hualien City, standing out prominently in the Hualien plain. It has an elevation of 108 meters and an area of about 50 hectares. To the east lies the vast blue Pacific Ocean, and to the west, the Meilun River meanders through. It is the backyard for Hualien residents and an excellent place for morning and evening strolls and sightseeing. Meilun Mountain is rich in ecology. Hiking and Family Outings Enter Meilun Mountain Park from Shangzhi Road, and you will see wooden barriers at the entrance controlling vehicle access. Walking further up, on the right, is the Meilun Mountain Park Ecological Exhibition Hall. The Meilun Mountain Park Ecological Exhibition Hall is the first exhibition hall in Eastern Taiwan themed around firefly restoration. It covers an area of about 100 ping. Before heading to the Meilun Mountain Trail, you can visit the exhibition hall to learn about these delicate guests of nature. The Meilun Mountain Trail is flat and gentle, often frequented by small groups of people strolling and chatting. There is also a large, bright green lawn for family recreation, equipped with a slide, making it a great place for children to play. On a sunny winter afternoon, the laughter of children fills the air, adding to the charm of Meilun Mountain Park.
