After the Huidé Tunnel opened, a section of the old Suhua Highway was repurposed and planned as a wide and gentle recreational trail. A walk of about 30 minutes allows you to admire the beauty of the Qingshui Cliff and enjoy the sea breeze from the Pacific Ocean. Trains Passing Through Tunnels: A Paradise for Photography Enthusiasts. The 1,460-meter-long Huidé Tunnel is the longest tunnel on the Suhua Highway. After passing through the tunnel entrance to the north, you will soon see the parking lot for the rest area. It's a great choice to leave the highway and walk into the trail for a closer encounter with nature. The Huidé Trail is wide and was originally accessible by vehicles. However, with the increasing number of visitors, it has been converted into an area open only to pedestrians. As the trail is flat and easy to walk, it is suitable for family trips, allowing you to stroll leisurely with children or elders and enjoy precious family time together. The initial section of the trail is not coastal. Along the trail, the mountainside is covered with dense broad-leaved forests, which partially shade the path from the sun, allowing you to walk under the canopy to escape the heat and glare. Timing your visit with the arrival of trains, you can overlook from the trail and see trains following the North-Link Line.
