It is a natural limestone cave and a sacred place in the eyes of the indigenous Amis people. The cave contains a pool of water about 5 meters deep, and the lake level rises and falls with the phases of the moon, hence the name "Yuedong" (Moon Cave), also known as "Moon Well." Legend has it that the lake is home to many eels, including one weighing over 10 kilograms, known as the "thousand-year eel." Under construction, expected to open in mid-April 110 (2021), subject to actual construction progress. Local Amis legend says that the water in Yuedong rises and falls with the moon's phases, hence its other name, "Moon Well." Located about 1 kilometer south of Shiti Ping, "Yuedong" features many charming wooden fish carvings on its viewing platform, making it an excellent spot to admire the beautiful sea views. "Yuedong" is a naturally formed, enclosed rock cave. Spring water flows from the rocks, forming a lake with no visible inlet or outlet, yet it exhibits tidal phenomena, which is a remarkable sight. Come and visit.
