Due to insufficient stone resources from the Zuocang mining area, TCC abandoned mining operations and returned the mining area to the Forestry Bureau. After mining ceased and the mountain was closed, Mount Shabudang regained its original appearance. Consequently, the Forestry Bureau began planning the current trail in 2003, minimizing damage to nature and allowing visitors to experience a relatively pristine ecological environment. Mount Shabudang, where the Zuocang Trail is located, lies on the eastern flank of the Central Mountain Range, standing at 495 meters. It is Taiwan's oldest geological formation. The viewing and resting platform at the summit of the Zuocang Trail offers a panoramic view of the distant horizon where sky and water merge into a picturesque scene, bringing a sense of exhilaration. Zuocang Waterfall, about three stories high, has a moderate flow. Below the waterfall is a rocky platform where you can enjoy a natural spa to wash away the fatigue of daily life, or absorb negative ions by the waterfall to relax your body and mind.
