Cycling along the babbling brook, you can find traces of fish, shrimp, shellfish, and snails in any ditch, full of vitality. The Amis people have developed the "Balakao" fishing method in this wetland, using natural materials such as bamboo, tree fern, and Lagerstroemia indica branches to create a three-tiered structure placed in the river. This provides space for fish and shrimp to forage and shelter, making it easier to catch fish. The Balakao fishing method does not involve large-scale catches at once, allowing the ecosystem to thrive and demonstrating respect for nature. After observing the ecology, you can also visit the nearby Makutaay Cultural Hall to admire the vivid wood carvings of the indigenous people; or cycle leisurely along the T-shaped wooden boardwalk to savor the surrounding lush green scenery. The entire journey is a true ecological tour!
