Saoba Stone Pillars. The Saoba Stone Pillars are an archaeological site in Taiwan, located southwest of the confluence of the Xiuguluan River and Hongye River in the East Rift Valley, at the northern end of the Wudu Terrace, towering over. The Saoba Stone Pillars are an archaeological site in Taiwan, located southwest of the confluence of the Xiuguluan River and Hongye River in the East Rift Valley, at the northern end of the Wudu Terrace, towering over the mid-section of the rift valley, overlooking the Xiuguluan River with a good view and pleasant scenery. There are two Saoba Stone Pillars, with adjacent giant stone pillars measuring 5.75 meters and 3.99 meters in height, respectively. Appearing approximately 3,000 years ago, they are the only prehistoric megalithic civilization remains in Taiwan, and thus were designated as a National Third-Class Historic Site by the Ministry of the Interior. They are not only an important symbol of prehistoric megalithic culture but have also evoked rich emotions from people of all eras and regions. Here, one can not only gaze at the Xiuguluan River and the Central Mountain Range from afar, but the mysterious Saoba Stone Pillars combined with Amis legends make people eager to explore, making it a great place for tourists to stop and rest.
