Gangziliau Fort. -Attraction Introduction- Located at Gangziliaofort, straddling the Xinyi and Zhongzheng Districts of Keelung, this fort has stood here since the early Japanese colonial period, guarding Badouzi alongside Niuchouling Fort. -Attraction Introduction-
Located at the border of Xinyi and Zhongzheng Districts in Keelung, Gangziliau Battery has stood here since the early Japanese colonial period. Together with Niuchouling Battery, it guarded the entrance to Badouzi Harbor, jointly protecting the safety of the outer port. Ascending to the high ground, the view opens up dramatically, allowing you to take in Keelung Islet, Heping Island, Badouzi, and Bitou Cape.

Gangziliau Battery is a national historic site. Military facilities such as gun emplacements, observation posts, barracks, command posts, and storage rooms are still visible today, retaining their historical atmosphere. The battery is built on a mountain at an altitude of 150 meters, covering an area of approximately 2 hectares. It faces the sea with the mountain at its back. The word "Gangzi" originates from the Ketagalan language, meaning "trap." It primarily defended Badouzi and the northern waters of Keelung Port. Through the tunnels between the gun emplacements, you can see Badouzi Harbor. Following the small path behind the battery area and ascending slowly, you can reach the highest point and see the Keelung scenery unfold before your eyes. History and the sea meet here, creating a captivating landscape.

Gangziliau Battery is situated on Gangziliau Mountain, one of the "100 Lesser Peaks." Walking along the trail, you'll be surrounded by lush trees, the sounds of birdsong, and opportunities to observe flora and fauna.
