In the past, it was a busy thoroughfare for the transportation of tea, camphor, and daily necessities, as well as for people's travel. - Attraction Features - Traversing mountains and seas, the Danlan Ancient Trail connects Keelung, New Taipei, and Yilan. It is also a trail that traverses history, time, and culture. Walking on the ancient trail, you can not only feel the footsteps of tea merchants and travelers from a hundred years ago but also enjoy the scenery of valleys, tea plantations, and mountains and forests along the way. The Danlan Ancient Trail is most widely known for its three routes: the northern route, the 'official road,' used for military patrols and postal services in the past; the middle route, the 'people's road,' where relics of early settlers' cultivation and stone-built Tudigong temples and other temples can be seen; and the southern route, the 'tea road,' which has a deep connection with the tea trade. The starting points of the middle and northern routes are both in Nuannuan, Keelung. - Recommended Activities - The Danlan Ancient Trail offers diverse routes. You can choose different sections based on your physical fitness, whether for a leisurely hike or a more challenging route, to fully enjoy the magnificent mountain and sea scenery.
