Liudu Xianzhun Trail. This trail is approximately 350 meters long, with its two ends at the entrance of Baxihou River in Tai'an Village and next to Cifeng Temple in Liudu Village. It is said that during the Qing Dynasty, when fighting the Dutch, militiamen gathered above the Xianzhun (險圳, literally 'dangerous canal'). Their elevated position gave them a significant advantage, causing heavy casualties among the Dutch soldiers. In the 22nd year of Jiaqing (1817 AD) during the Qing Dynasty, the Yu family from Anxi settled in Liudu. To irrigate their farmland, they constructed two canals, the "Upper Canal" and the "Lower Canal." These canals passed through perilous cliffs, and to commemorate this feat, the ancestors collectively named it Xianzhun, a name that has been passed down to this day. The Xianzhun is a natural wonder; the meandering Keelung River, with its many twists and turns, resembles the Nine-Bend Stream of Wuyi Mountain in Fujian, China, and is thus also known as "Little Wuyi Mountain." Visitors are often amazed and full of praise for this precarious canal. Additionally, the waters of the Keelung River below are known as "Turtle Pond," where many freshwater turtles can be seen, indicating a diverse ecosystem. The trail, built with sleepers, is extremely well-equipped. This trail is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a bicycle ride to enjoy the scenery. Along the way, visitors can see the Dingzhun Fude Temple, famous for its temple-within-a-temple structure, the century-old Husband and Wife Trees, and enjoy the beautiful views of the Keelung River.
