A philosophical work of art ~ To create a unique and beautiful style, Chiayi Park appropriately showcases common elements of Southern Min architecture, constructing the "Qiang Zhi Dao" (Path of Walls). Its design uses the Heavenly Stems Altar and Earthly Branches Altar as starting and ending platforms, symbolizing respect for the movement of the heavens. It also applies the principle of repeating units, arranged in a staggered manner, to demonstrate the spatial characteristic of "seeking change within sameness." The "Heavenly Round, Earthly Square" at the entrance corridor, as well as the octagonal, hexagonal, and circular archways, all conform to the profound cosmology and philosophy of life that Han people have held for thousands of years. The surrounding walls are low and short, easy to cross, and are designed as "cloud walls." These "cloud walls" can be sat on, laid on, walked on, and played on. Their role is no longer to "enclose," but rather to resemble a soaring dragon, full of life and highly distinctive.
