Gangping Sports Park is officially named 'City Sports Park', but it is also known as Gangping Sports Park because it is located in Gangping Village. Since its establishment, it has been highly utilized. Covering an area of 85,000 square meters and with a capacity of 3,200 people, the park has been renovated and expanded to include tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, skating rinks, and children's playgrounds. Newly added facilities include an extreme sports park, a parking lot with 120 spaces, a woodball court, and a croquet court. The new extreme sports park features include platforms, gliding platforms, ramps, half-pipe ramps, stairways, and curved tracks. A major highlight of the park is the 'extreme sports facilities'. To cater to the popularity of inline skating among young people, former Mayor Chen Li-chen specifically directed the construction of these facilities. However, for safety and general accessibility, facilities like gliding platforms and curved tracks are designed with a standard, non-professional difficulty level. Throughout the construction process, close coordination and discussion with architects ensured that the new extreme sports facilities were not overly specialized or difficult, preventing them from being usable only by a select few professional athletes. All facilities are designed to be accessible and of low difficulty, making Gangping Sports Park a recognized location in Taiwan suitable for inline skating.
