The surrounding landscape of the greenhouse includes specimen gardens of important Taiwanese trees, Hengchun and Lanyu plant areas, aquatic ecological ponds, and arid plant areas. Inside the greenhouse, there is a simulated rock waterfall plant area with a waterfall cascading down an eight-meter high rock face, creating a humid environment for orchids and ferns, thus forming a natural ecosystem. The greenhouse features 12-meter high Diospyros ferrea and Elaeocarpus sylvestris, as well as various tropical and subtropical tree species such as Cycas revoluta, Diospyros morrisonii, Balanites aegyptiaca, and Diospyros utilis. Additionally, there are species like Cycas taiwaniana, Taxus mairei, Keteleeria davidiana, and Podocarpus costalis from Lanyu, creating a diverse subtropical ecological landscape. The important Taiwanese tree specimen garden showcases significant native tree species, including gymnosperms like Taiwania cryptomerioides, Pinus taiwanensis, Keteleeria davidiana, and Calocedrus formosana; and broadleaf trees such as Cinnamomum micranthum, Bischofia javanica, Zelkova serrata, and Myrica esculenta from Hengchun. The aquatic plant area consists of an ecological pond and a netted enclosure, with the ecological pond primarily recreating the scenery of native Taiwanese marsh ecosystems. The netted enclosure features a Taiwanese pond imagery and precious carnivorous plants, along with special aquatic plants presented in water basins.
