A venue for leisure, recreation, education, and research. Pizitou Botanical Garden is located near the Cultural Center and was established in 1908 (Meiji 41). At that time, it served as a production and experimental site for rubber seedlings, along with Shanziding Botanical Garden. Pizitou, situated on flat land, differed from the hilly terrain of Shanziding. Both sites conducted differentiated forestry experiments simultaneously, which later transitioned into afforestation trials for tropical and subtropical regions. As times changed, it evolved into a place for cultivating afforestation tree species and landscaping seedlings. The botanical garden currently features planned areas for shrubs, vines, fragrant flowers, bamboo, and lawns, as well as an urban multi-layered forest landscape area, serving the four major functions of leisure, recreation, education, and research for the public and scholars.
