The Shixian Library, located in the West District, was built using the municipal land readjustment fund and serves as the West District branch of the Cultural Center. The Cultural Center currently comprises three buildings: a museum, a library, and a concert hall, along with a beautiful and exquisite garden, covering a total area of over 5,000 ping. The basement of the museum houses the Chiayi City Koji Pottery Museum, while floors one through four feature various exhibition rooms. The library is equipped with reading rooms, an audiovisual room, and book stacks. The concert hall has dedicated seating for 1,113 people. The stage curtain is adorned with a hand-woven silk tapestry depicting the renowned Taiwanese oil painting master Lin Yushan's work "Lotus Pond." The pond north of the concert hall was used during the Japanese colonial era to soak timber for the Alishan Forest Railway transportation and is also known as "Fir Pond." At that time, trees were planted along the pond, creating dense shade that offered a tranquil setting for fishing, and "Fishing in the Cypress Marsh" was once one of the Eight Views of Zhusui.
