Lantan covers an area of about 70 hectares, located near Shanziding in the eastern suburbs of Chiayi City, 3 kilometers from the city center. It was formerly known as "Hongmao Pi," and legend has it that it was dug by the Dutch over 300 years ago, hence the name "Lantan." It is the main water supply source for the Chiayi area. With its vast area and rich natural ecological resources, the back mountain area of the scenic spot possesses abundant natural resources, including various plants and insects, making it a famous tourist attraction in the Chiayi region. Lantan's "Moon Shadow Heart" is a recently completed new tourist highlight, situated in Chiayi's backyard - Lantan Scenic Area. It is a work by artist Wang Wenzhi, an openwork themed structure woven from aluminum sheets. Under the moonlight, light and shadow transform, creating a unique beauty, like a bird's nest built on the water, echoing the surrounding trees and birds, full of natural wild charm. With "Moon Shadow Heart" as the design theme, "Moon Shadow" represents the beautiful scenery of "moonlight on the water," and "Heart of the Pool" refers to the ripples in the center of the lake, with the homophone "heart-to-heart talk" suggesting leisurely enjoyment of the lake, conveying Lantan's landscape imagery of "moon, water, and lake tour." The ceramic bottom, shaped like a water droplet, symbolizes Lantan's inexhaustible water source and extends into a dreamlike color.
