Taiwan Tile Museum has become a must-visit attraction for travelers to Chiayi City in recent years. It is a rare museum in the world with tiles as its theme, housing 1,500 pieces of various types of Taiwanese tiles. Tiles, which have served as unsung heroes in Taiwan's architectural history, have been a way for wealthy merchants and magnates to adorn their homes and display their family's prosperity for a century. With over 20 years of dedication, Taiwan Tile Museum has rescued, restored, and preserved more than 4,000 century-old tiles, showcasing Taiwan's tile architectural art from 1915 to 1935. Taiwan Tile Museum has also gained international attention in recent years, including being commissioned by the renowned Japanese SPA operator "SPAWORLD" in Osaka to design and produce 5,500 tiles, creating a tile-themed space. Japan's NHK television station has featured Taiwan Tile Museum and its tile series products in a special report on exports to Japan. South Korea's high-end skincare brand Sulwhasoo has launched a limited-edition charity product featuring Taiwanese tiles. The museum's tiles have also been selected as diplomatic gifts by the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The museum is filled with world-class precious tile culture worth exploring. Photos provided by Taiwan Tile Museum.
