Guandu Wharf. Guandu, originally known as Gandoumen, is a strategically important port due to its location backed by Guanyin Mountain and Datun Mountain, facing the Tamsui River. In early years, pioneers entered Taiwan from Guandu Wharf. In early years, pioneers entered Taiwan from Guandu Wharf to cultivate the northern part of the island, thus Guandu was developed very early. Later, due to the silting of the river mouths of the two rivers (Keelung River and Tamsui River), water transportation gradually declined. Guandu Wharf is located next to Guandu Nature Park and Guandu Temple. On holidays or at night, visitors can often be seen strolling and resting around Guandu Wharf. Many cyclists also come from Bali via Guandu Bridge or from Tamsui. The scenery along the way is beautiful, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing.
