Yangmingshan Chung Cheng Hall. Located within Yangmingshan National Park, Chung Cheng Hall was built in 1965 during President Chiang Kai-shek's tenure to commemorate the 100th birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the Father of the Nation. Designed by renowned architect Ms. Xiu Zhelan, it is nestled amidst the lush greenery embraced by mountains. Its exterior features traditional Chinese classical architecture, while the interior is elegantly and meticulously furnished. It previously served as the venue for the National Assembly and was an important site for state leaders to host foreign guests or hold state banquets. Today, it has been designated as a municipal historic site and is open for venue rental and guided tours, making it a building of significant historical and commemorative value. Located within Yangmingshan National Park, Chung Cheng Hall is an extremely magnificent Chinese palace-style building. The construction of this building was to commemorate the 100th birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, overseen by Taiwan's outstanding female architect, Ms. Xiu Zhelan. It adopted a classical palace design, featuring a large green glazed tile roof, symmetrical giant vermilion columns, and exquisite and ornate carved beams and painted rafters, fully showcasing the grand momentum of traditional architecture. Due to its special geographical location, visitors can still smell a faint scent of sulfur within the hall to this day, which has become a unique sensory memory of Chung Cheng Hall. This building once served as a venue for specific large-scale conferences, witnessing many changes of the era. Today, Chung Cheng Hall has shed its early functions and transformed into a place that looks towards the future.
