The Museum of Postal Administration was established on December 1, 1965, and officially opened to the public on March 20 of the following year, the 70th anniversary of Chunghwa Post. At that time, it was established in a renovated former office building of the Directorate General of Posts in Xindian. Due to its remote location, small premises, and the inability to expand due to a planned road passing through it, the museum's development was severely restricted. To align with national cultural development and the needs of postal services, a 10-story building was constructed in Taipei City, located at the Nanhai Academy, and was completed and opened on National Day in 1984.
