It covers an area of about 46 ping. Although it does not have a magnificent temple appearance, its sphere of influence is extremely wide and its incense is flourishing. It is always bustling and becomes a major local event during deity parades, closely related to the local development of Dadaocheng. The main deity enshrined in the temple is Lord Xia Hai City God, accompanied by two judges (civil and military), Generals Xie and Fan (Seventh and Eighth Masters), and 38 Righteous and Brave Lords. The City God's wife, eight officials, eight generals, Master Ma, and the Matchmaker are also enshrined. This famous ancient temple currently houses about 200 statues, making it the temple with the highest density of deities in Taiwan. At Xia Hai City God Temple, besides the City God, the most attractive feature for visitors is praying to the Matchmaker. Over 6,000 couples bring gift cakes annually to express their gratitude, and the most sought-after item is the "Husband-Taming Shoe" (also known as the "Happiness Shoe"), a famous "love charm" in Taipei City. On average, more than 200 families seek "shoes" from Xia Hai City God Temple each year. Legend has it that the City God and his wife have an age difference of about 70 years. With the "old husband doting on his young wife," people deeply believe that this "divine couple" can bring happiness to families, which led to the origin of the "Husband-Taming Shoe." In folk legends, the City God Temple also has a miraculous story. In 1884, during the Sino-French War, French forces attacked Taiwan.
