Jingmei Jiying Temple. Located in Jingmei Old Street, Jiying Temple was originally built in the bamboo grove of Jingwei. It enshrines the protector gods of the people from Anxi County, Quanzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province – Baoyi Zunwang Zhang Xun and Baoyi Dafu Xu Yuan. Later, due to unfavorable feng shui, the temple was relocated and rebuilt on the lower street of Jingwei in 1867 (Tongzhi 6th year), which is the current temple site. Four hundred years ago, immigrants from Anxi came to Taipei. As most of them were tea farmers, they chose the humid hilly area of Wenshan to grow tea and brought their local protector gods, including Baoyi Zunwang, Baoyi Dafu, and Qingshui Zushi. At that time, the main surnames of the Anxi people were Gao, Zhang, and Lin. As time went by, the population gradually increased, and the cultivated land expanded from Jingmei to Muzha, Shenkeng, Shiding, and other areas. Naturally, the number of people worshipping the local gods of Anxi County also grew, leading to the expansion of Jiying Temple into three temples. The Gao Family Jiying Temple within Jingmei Market today is one of them. This place embodies the historical sense of Jingmei Old Street and is a third-class historic site. Its exterior and interior are quite solemn, featuring numerous murals and exquisite stone carvings. Additionally, the corridors possess a deep wooden aesthetic, with wooden windows and buildings exuding an ancient atmosphere, blending seamlessly with Jingmei Old Street.
