National Taiwan University Hospital, West Wing. NTUH was founded during the Japanese colonial era, formerly known as Taipei Hospital, Taiwan Governor-General's Office Taipei Hospital, and National Taiwan University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, after the war it was renamed. After the war, it was renamed National Taiwan University Hospital. It is the core of modern medical development in Taiwan. The buildings in the West Wing are currently used for outpatient services and some wards. This building was designed by Mr. Juro Kondo and is a two-story Renaissance-style red brick reinforced concrete building. The floor plan adopts a symmetrical layout with a central corridor connecting outpatient clinics and wards. The lobby is solemn and magnificent, with spacious interiors, utilizing many Western architectural techniques. It is a masterpiece of modern Western-style architecture and was the largest and most modern hospital in Southeast Asia at the time.
