Bailushishan, Kangle Mountain, and Mingju Mountain, surrounded by Dahu Park and old trees, form three interconnected hiking trails, also a place for residents of Neihu District to exercise, keep fit, and gather. Bailushishan Hiking Trail is located next to Dahu Park in Neihu. This trail is also called the Fifty Bends Trail because it winds and turns its way up. Usually, halfway up, one can no longer distinguish east from west, so a compass is quite useful at this point. The valley of the Bailushishan Hiking Trail is rich in ancient fern species, such as Cyathea and Angiopteris, as well as Acacia and Schefflera, all growing vigorously and emitting refreshing phytoncides. The Kangle Mountain Trail starts next to Huangshi Gong Temple on Section 5, Chenggong Road, Neihu. The trail is shaded by trees and breezy, making it a favorite mountain path for morning exercisers. The highest point of the trail is also the best spot to admire Dahu Park. The olive trees and banyan trees along the way are undoubtedly major landmarks of the trail, especially the latter, an old banyan tree with a trunk circumference of 4 meters, lush with foliage and greenery, locally known as "Uncle Rong Sacred Tree." The Mingju Mountain Hiking Trail retains more of its original forest appearance. Along the way, there are three large Ficus superba trees, with trunk circumferences similar to Uncle Rong Sacred Tree on Kangle Mountain.
