Wuzhishan Range_Jinmianshan Hiking Trail. Jinmianshan is the southwest ridge of the Wuzhishan Range, divided into Jinmianshan and Xiaojinmianshan. The andesite sandstone of this mountain is rich in quartz, so when the sun shines, it appears to sparkle from afar. The hiking trail is approximately 2.3 kilometers long, with the entire route being about 3 kilometers, taking about 1 hour and 40 minutes to walk. The Jinmianshan Hiking Trail is located next to De-Ming College of Business and Technology on Huanshan Road in Neihu. From the start of the trail, you can see nearly vertical rock faces. The entire path is made of rustic sandstone steps. As the slope gradually increases, the stone steps are replaced by large rock walls over 100 meters in diameter. Halfway up the mountain, there is a stone fort observation deck from a Qing Dynasty quarry, which is a prominent landmark. The area between the giant rocks at the summit is naturally the best spot to overlook the cityscape of Taipei and the Keelung River. Continuing east along the trail, passing Xiaojinmianshan, you will soon reach the vicinity of Jinlong Temple on Jin'an Road Section 3, which is also the latter part of the hiking trail. Scissors Stone Mountain Jinmianshan is located west of Jinlong Industrial Road in Neihu. When viewed from Bishan Rock, the giant rocks at the summit resemble a sharp bird's beak, hence its other name, Scissors Stone Mountain. Although its elevation is only 258 meters, it possesses the imposing aura of a high mountain. The valley was once a major source of stone for the construction of Taipei City during the Qing Dynasty.
