The Lishanqiaokou Hiking Trail is located south of Nangang Park. This area was once a water source for irrigation, nestled by mountains and rivers. The three old ponds of Nangang District (Houshan Pond, Dongxin Pond, and Sanchong Pond) were located here. Today, these ancient ponds no longer draw water but have become places for fishing, enjoying the scenery, strolling around the lake, and cycling. The first section of the trail is the Beixing Temple Trail, and the latter section is the ancient Lishanqiaokou Trail. This trail, with its century-old history, was once a shortcut for early settlers to transport rice and tea between Songshan (Xikou) and Sifenzi (Section 4, Academia Road). Walking along the forest paths and ancient mountain trails, one can see rare tree ferns and a carpet of yellowed fallen leaves. This area is less populated, and the tranquil atmosphere of the trail allows one to experience the beauty of pristine nature. Unlike other trails in the Nangang Mountain Range, the Lishanqiaokou Hiking Trail still retains a section of dirt path. On sunny holidays, walking here evokes a nostalgic feeling with the fragrant scent of earth. However, after rain, the soft and muddy path is not so picturesque, and people need to be careful not to slip and fall. The Beixing Temple Trail is a flat and easy-to-walk stone-step trail, shaded by green trees and accompanied by fields. The walk is very relaxing, especially with the prominent "Health Boost" and "Houshan Pond Residents Care" signs along the way.
