Hushan is one of the low mountains within the Four Beasts Mountain Citizen Forest Area, connecting to the Nangang Mountain System behind it to form a barrier on the southeast side of Taipei City. It is 140 meters above sea level, with a geology of marine strata forming a monocline terrain, high in the west and low in the east, offering a vast view. A sundial is installed at the summit for observing the sun and telling time. The trail is composed of alternating layers of block sandstone and shale. Due to the Hushan Stream flowing through, the stream valley ecosystem is also the best place for nurturing diverse ecology such as fireflies, small green frogs, and ferns. After the stream banks were repaired, consolidated, and improved for soil and water conservation, the Hushan Stream became the best place to observe wetland ecology. Interpretation signs and route markers are installed along the trail, making it a great place for suburban hiking and ecological observation. The Four Beasts Mountain trails were renovated and named the Four Beasts Mountain Citizen Forest, including four suburban mountains: Tiger, Leopard, Lion, and Elephant. The mountainous area boasts a rich variety of biological and avian species, making it a wonderful place for the public to enjoy leisurely time in the outdoor green forest. Hushan Stream Ecological Tour The Hushan Stream has been specially rehabilitated by the city government's Department of Industrial Development, from its source to its downstream, transforming it into a small garden rich in aquatic ecological landscapes. Visitors can enjoy various aquatic animals and plants, such as fireflies and tree frogs, from the trees or the stream, gaining more enjoyment from their hike. Hushan 120 High Ground is characterized by its vast views and the old military factory as its landmark.
