Daan Forest Park. Daan Forest Park is located in Daan District, in the heart of the city, covering an area of 25.9293 hectares, earning it the nickname 'Lungs of the City'. The main entrance plaza features flower beds densely planted with seasonal flowers and foliage plants, combined with a Buddha statue area and a bamboo grove to the south (planted with various bamboo species), creating a distinctive garden landscape. On the northwest side of the park is a natural pond, covering 0.7 hectares. The pond's surroundings and small islands are planted with Firethorn, Copperleaf, Canna Lily, and Allamanda, adorned with Ficus pumila climbing the rocky walls of the island. Koi fish swim in the pond, often attracting visitors who stop to admire them for a long time. In the center of the park is an open-air music stage with a natural slope, capable of accommodating nearly a thousand spectators, serving as a major venue for artistic performances in Taipei. The area around the music stage is planted with fragrant flowers such as Magnolia, Gardenia, Orange Jessamine, Michelia, and Osmanthus, filling the air with a pleasant scent. This area is also part of the park's accessible leisure zone. On the southeast side of the park, you can see palm trees with a distinct Southeast Asian flavor, including Royal Palm, Alexander Palm, Bottle Palm, Peacock Palm, and Canna Lily, making you feel as if you are in a tropical palm forest. The park is traversed by two main east-west paths and one main north-south path, lined with trees and shrubs, interspersed with flower beds.
