Guandu Nature Park. Guandu Nature Park is located at the confluence of the Tamsui River and Keelung River, and has been an important habitat for migratory birds since ancient times. After more than ten years of effort by conservationists from all walks of life, Guandu Nature Park was established in 1996. Since December 1, 2001, the park has been managed by the Taipei City Government, entrusted to the Taipei Bird Society. The main purpose of Guandu Nature Park is to conserve the wetland environment of Guandu, restore the appearance of the Guandu wetlands, bring back the original inhabitants of the Guandu wetlands, and educate the public about the Guandu wetlands. To help the public better understand wetlands, the park frequently organizes diverse wetland environmental education activities and exhibitions, such as special theme exhibitions, weekend lectures, parent-child DIY classes, and camps, and assists schools in conducting diverse environmental education, such as on-site interpretation and outdoor field trips. In addition to maintaining the natural wetland environment, it also provides citizens and tourists with a good place to experience nature and enjoy leisure on weekends.
