Neigou Creek Ecological Trail. Neigou Creek is a tributary of the Keelung River, approximately 5.5 kilometers in length, with a drainage basin area of about 7 square kilometers. West of Neigou Creek is Taipei City, and east is New Taipei City. It is a great place for residents of the Donghu area to walk, relax, and chat, and it is also the best place in the Donghu area to get close to nature. Starting in 2013, a comprehensive landscape renovation was carried out in the middle reaches of Neigou Creek in Donghu. A waterside trail, nearly 1 kilometer long, was extended from the upper reaches. Through the establishment of landscape bridges and waterside trails, the walking paths on both sides of Neigou Creek, which were originally separated by the creek, connecting Taipei and New Taipei cities were linked. While clearing silt, the Wufeng Pond aquatic environment was restored, creating ecological habitats of varying depths and an ecological education space that allows people to be close to mountains, water, and nature day and night, creating a place for lingering experiences. This aims to increase residents' willingness to engage with and use the area, leading to recognition, understanding, and joint conservation, and also allowing the beautiful memories held by local elders to be recreated. Four major aspects: 1. Unique creativity and restoration of the former local natural/human living environment. The overall engineering structure and design are primarily lightweight, integrating the local expectation of Jiangnan garden landscape style, preferably using the existing environmental color palette, to respect and blend into the natural environment of Neigou Creek, considering water conservancy and flood discharge.
